Chiropractic

Carefully calculated chiropractic adjustments can improve mobility in the neck, back, and other joints of the body (knees, elbows, shoulders, etc), reduce inflammation and pain, and restore function. More importantly, chiropractic adjustments have been shown to improve function in the nervous system by reducing the input of pain receptors and improving the body’s ability to interact with and adapt to its surroundings.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy has numerous benefits in conjunction with chiropractic and as a separate and distinct treatment. These benefits include improving circulation, energy, and alertness, lowering heart rate and blood pressure, improving immune function, and reducing stress, pain, muscle soreness, and tension.

Orthotics

Orthotics are shoe inserts that are designed to correct biomechanical dysfunctions of the feet and ankles, including overpronation, or rolling inward of the foot. However, the benefits of orthotics extend beyond relieving foot and ankle pain. Other benefits of foot orthotics include improved posture, better balance, reduced lower back, knee, and/or hip pain, and being able to walk farther or stand without pain for longer periods of time.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation

Electrical muscle stimulation, called E-stim, uses a special device to send electrical impulses through the skin to target nerves or muscles. E-stim can be used to improve joint pain and swelling, increase range of motion for tense muscles or tendons, reduce stress and discomfort, and/or improve blood flow and circulation.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization

Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization uses specially designed instruments to break down excessive scar tissue and remodel damaged soft tissue so that muscles can move more freely. This results in improved range of motion and less pain and inflammation.

Spinal Flexion-Distraction (Decompression)

Spinal Flexion-Distraction is a type of spinal decompression that utilizes a specialized table which gently separates the spinal segments in a rhythmic motion to take pressure off of the intervertebral discs and reduce disc bulges that may be compressing spinal nerves.

Headaches

There is significant evidence that indicates that structural disorders of the neck are a frequent cause of headaches. Gentle and precisely calculated chiropractic adjustments of the neck can alleviate headache pain caused by these structural disorders.

Spinal Stenosis

Stenosis is the narrowing of the openings through which your spinal nerves pass. This can become problematic because a narrowed passageway can create pressure on these nerves. Maintaining proper alignment of the spine can broaden the openings through which your nerves pass, reduce nerve pressure, and relieve pain associated with stenosis.

Degenerative Joint Disease/Osteoarthritis

Chiropractic care can reduce inflammation and improve mobility of arthritic joints. It is one of the safest and most effective treatments available for osteoarthritis.

Low Back Pain

Numerous studies have demonstrated that chiropractic treatment can achieve greater short-term reduction in lower back pain than common medical treatments.

TMJ Pain

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and muscle disorders are a group of conditions creating pain and dysfunction in the jaw joint and the muscles controlling jaw movement. A gentle chiropractic adjustment can realign the jaw joint, improving mobility and decreasing pain and inflammation. Soft tissue techniques can also reduce tension in the muscles associated with the TMJ making it easier for the joint to move properly.

Shoulder, Arm and Hand Pain

While chiropractic is usually associated with the spine, many chiropractors are trained in specific techniques that improve the alignment and mobility of joints outside of the spine including shoulders, wrists, knees, ankles, and elbows.

Neck Pain

A neck adjustment improves the mobility of the spine, restores range of motion; and reduces muscle tension. Patients typically notice an improved ability to turn and tilt the head, and a reduction of pain, soreness and stiffness.

Sports Injuries

Chiropractors can treat sports-related injuries and work to optimize athletic function through non-invasive joint manipulation. Often, the goal is to improve muscle tone, balance, and performance for a specific sport or movement.

Plantar Fascitis

The plantar fascia is a band of tissue that connects your heel bone to the base of your toes. When this tissue becomes inflamed it is called plantar fasciitis. Chiropractic adjustments on the feet and ankles can alleviate pressure on the bottom of your feet, reducing the symptoms of plantar fasciitis. Chiropractors can also guide you through specific stretches and exercises to reduce symptoms.

Herniated Discs

Chiropractic treatment can improve the symptoms caused by herniated discs by alleviating pressure on the discs.

Subluxation

In the world of chiropractic, a subluxation is a condition in which one or more bones of the spine become misaligned creating abnormal movement of the joints, inflammation, and pain. This condition is the root of most of the problems that we treat.

Whiplash

Studies have shown that impacts from car accidents result in far greater forces being applied to the neck and head than to the vehicle. Such forces can cause significant neck injuries even when the impact is less than that which is required to damage a vehicle. Having your neck treated by a chiropractor can ensure that your neck heals properly with optimal alignment of the vertebrae and reduced stress and tension on the muscles of the head and neck.
